5. Porsche Panamera
Highlight: Classy Interior
Lowlight: Touch-sensitive controls hoard to navigate.
Porsche Panamera – what is it exactly? It falls in the category of super-lux, a sports luxury car that’s neither BMW M5 nor Mercedes S-Class, but a middle ground. This is where price meets speed. Shelling out a measly 6 figures on a Turbo S version could hammer along at 196mph. Even the new Hybrid can do 185mph.
Historically, it was a car that searched for a job but didn’t succeed, being neither comfortable nor rewarding to drive. There is a high degree of refinement and ride quality, but the handling is equally impressive.
4. Mercedes-AMG CLA 45
Highlight: Sexy interior and wild acceleration
Lowlight: Limited rear headroom.
With its high price and limited range of options, the CLA45 is a more expensive sports sedan than its larger, more refined competitors. But ultimately, worth it. Flashy grill, wider front fenders and extra aerodynamics, this version sets out to be a class apart from its predecessors. Cabin fittings and modern infotainment equipment are present in the CLA class. A flat-bottomed steering wheel, heavily bolstered front seats and carbon fibre trim complete the sporty look.
3. BMW M440i
Highlight: Deceitfully spacious room in the back
Lowlight: Wind and Tyre noises.
Deliberately loud and extroverted. The M440i is a change in pace from what BMW usually provide. A 2+2 with more room in the back. Despite its short trunk opening, the cargo area is wide and deep, which means you can haul luggage for at least three passengers during a weekend getaway. The rear seats fold for additional storage.
In addition, the M440i is faster than before. A turbocharged straight-six serves up 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque—62 horses and 39 lb-ft more than the outgoing 440i. 0-60 drops from 4.8 seconds to 4.6.

AMG has the form of shoehorning ridiculous engines into sensible cars, and the Mercedes-AMG C63 S is no exception. While the standard C-Class has fuel-sipping diesel or CO2-cutting plug-in hybrid options, the C63 S’s power source is decidedly extravagant.
